As noted previously, I am a methodologist with an interest in developmental lifespan research on health and behavior.  While my personal research in developmental epidemiology and biobehavioral informatics has focused on working with newborns, infants, and young children, I am also involved with several research teams examining health and behavior in adolescents and the elderly.

Adolescent Health and Development.  One such collaboration involves colleagues at the University of Maine conducting research examining adolescent health, specifically strategies for improving fitness and aerobic capacity in youth.  In addition, I am involved with several different research teams examining adolescent behavioral and socio-emotional development. This work focuses on development in ethnic minority, and particularly Hispanic, youth.

Health and Development in Elders.  Finally, I am also part of a long-term interdisciplinary research team examining the impact of the built environment on health and well-being, as well as physical activity, among Hispanic elders.  Much of this work is based on a New Urbanist model of community design.
